1,3-Propanediol is a plant-derived humectant made through the fermentation of corn starch. It helps attract and retain moisture while giving the mist a smooth, lightweight skin feel.

Citric acid is used in a very small amount to adjust the finished mist to a mildly acidic pH suited to a leave-on facial product.
