The formula pairs lightweight squalane, meadowfoam, and jojoba with nutrient-rich hibiscus seed oil and cold-pressed bakuchi seed oil. Supercritical CO₂-extracted bakuchiol adds a concentrated botanical active selected to support smoother, more even-looking skin.

Why both bakuchi seed oil and bakuchiol?

Bakuchi seed oil and bakuchiol are distinct ingredients. Azul combines the broader botanical character of cold-pressed bakuchi seed oil with concentrated, supercritical CO₂-extracted bakuchiol. Together, they give the formula its balance of nourishment, elegant texture, and skin-renewing character.

Use morning or evening after cleansing and misting.

Dispense 1–2 pumps into your palm, then press gently into slightly damp skin over the face and neck. Begin with one pump and add more only where skin needs it.

For a simple ESTELÍ face ritual, mist first with Rosa Jamaica Hydrating Face Mist, then press Azul into damp skin to help seal in hydration. When using it in the morning, finish with sunscreen.

Blue tansy brings a distinctive green, subtly sweet herbaceous note. Frankincense adds a bright resinous lift, while copaiba gives the aroma a smooth, softly balsamic finish.

The Beginning of Azul

Azul began with a conversation. A longtime friend who has supported ESTELÍ for years told me that her dermatologist had recommended retinol and asked what I thought. I shared what I knew about bakuchiol and mentioned a formula I had been considering. Her question became the nudge that set Azul in motion.

I had been fascinated by hibiscus throughout my botanical studies. When I first created ESTELÍ, I worked with the plant primarily through its hydrosol and powdered forms. Discovering hibiscus seed oil opened an entirely new way to formulate with it, and I knew I wanted it to become a hero ingredient in Azul.

The finished formula brings hibiscus seed oil together with cold-pressed bakuchi seed oil and supercritical CO₂-extracted bakuchiol, supported by silky squalane, meadowfoam, and jojoba. It is a formula that grew from friendship, curiosity, and a continuing fascination with what plants can offer.

GOOD TO KNOW

Azul contains both cold-pressed bakuchi seed oil and concentrated bakuchiol. Although they come from the same plant, they are distinct ingredients with different roles in the formula.

Begin with one pump, especially if you are new to facial oils. Because Azul is made with minimally processed botanical oils and extracts, slight variations in color and aroma are natural.

Azul is formulated with 1% high-purity bakuchiol concentrate, along with cold-pressed bakuchi seed oil that naturally contributes additional bakuchiol. Using both allows the formula to pair a precise concentration of the isolated active with the broader botanical character of the whole seed oil.
