My relationship with skin and health shifted slowly, and then all at once. What once felt normal began to feel overwhelming. Products I had used for years no longer worked for me. My body became more sensitive, asking for something different.

I began to pay attention.

I found myself thinking often about Nicaragua, where my mother is from and where I had spent some time earlier in life.

There was a difference there. My skin felt calmer. My body felt more at ease. Everything felt simpler.

At the time, I didn’t have the language for it. Only the feeling that something was working with me, not against me.

Years later, as I began learning more about ingredients and formulation, those memories returned with clarity.
